Fleeting flowers

Flowers grow, but they don’t stay.
Their beauty comes, then goes away.
Is everything fleeting? Do all things pass?
My chest aches, my tears water the grass.
My mind shifts to heaven, that magnificent place.
Where eternity stays, and nothing goes to waste.
So flowers are reminders of that time to come.
A time that stays, doesn’t go away, where flowers last.
